February 6: Snowshoe @ Mt Ashland (FS-20)
TH: South on I-5, take Exit 6 then right up Ski Area Road. Park near FS 20 gate at the south end of the ski area parking lot.
Description: Snowshoe on FS20 with views of Mt Shasta, etc. 4-5 miles. Big Red SNOTELWeather Forecast. RT mileage: 30 miles.

February 13: Forest Park (Jacksonville)
TH: From the 4-way stop in Jacksonville continue 0.8 miles on Highway 238 to a right on Reservoir Road. Up Reservoir Road for approximately 1 mile to the second trailhead parking area on the left (P1A).  EDT: 35 minutes. Description: This will be a 5 to 6 mile loop in Jacksonville's Forest Park starting at P1A and encompassing parts of the Ponderosa Snag Trail, the Siskiyou Trail & Loop and the Rail Trail.  Weather forecast. RT mileage: 40 miles.

February 20: Demming Gulch to Grub Gulch to Griffin Lane and the New Jack-Ash Trail
TH: Up I-5 to the Talent Exit. Left into Talent and right onto 99 North for 0.4 miles. Left on Colver Road for 2.1 miles to a left onto Pioneer Road for 1.9 miles to a right to stay on Pioneer Road for 2.2 miles to a left for 1.3 miles to stay on Pioneer. Left on Griffin Creek Road for 1.3 miles to a continue straight on Griffin Lane for 4.3 miles to leave a shuttle car on the left near 7595 Griffin Lane. Continue on Griffin Lane for 0.5 miles to a left onto Sterling Creek Road for 2.2 miles to a left (at the trailhead sign on the right) onto 39-2-8 for 0.3 miles to a left to stay on 39-2-8 for 0.7 miles to the TH on the right. EDT: 40 minutes. Description: Head north on the Sterling Mine Ditch for 3 miles to the intersection with the Grub Gulch Trail. Then up the hill for 2.5 miles with nice views down into the valley to the junction of the trail leading back down to Griffin Lane through many mining claims ending up walking through areas of hydraulic mining from the gold rush days. Distance 8 miles; elevation gain 1,000’. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles.

February 27: Frank Hill Road Trail
TH: Drive through Ashland, up Highway 99 to a left onto North Main Street just before the railroad bridge. Right on Fox Street to Ashland Mine Road. Park at or near Liz Landreth's house at 1400 Ashland Mine Rd. Frank Hill Road is at the corner of Ashland Mine Road and Fox Street. Description: Hike up the road which eventually becomes a trail. Continue up past abandoned trailers to multiple overlooks of the Rogue Valley. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 20 miles.
