February 2: Stein Butte (p. 149 in 100 Hikes in Southern Oregon Leave at 8:30 AM
TH: Past Applegate Lake to the T, left on Elliot Creek Road for 0.9 mile and make a left just past the bridge into the parking area for the Seattle Bar TH. EDT 60 minutes. Description: Steady up to a ridge crest for spectacular views of the Siskiyous and then on to the Stein Butte summit, site of an old fire lookout. Distance 9 miles. 2,400' elevation gain. February 9: Collings Mountain - Applegate Lake (p.146 in 100 Hikes)

TH: Proceed through Jacksonville on Highway 238 to Ruch. Left on Upper Applegate Road for 16 miles to the Hart-Tish TH where we drop the shuttle car; park on the west side of the road by the guardrail. Continue south along the lake for another 2.5 miles to the Watkins TH. EDT: 75 minutes. Description: woodsy trail with excellent views. Distance: 7 miles; climbing: 2,500 feet. Weather forecast. February 16: Upper Rogue River Trail: Woodruff Creek to Bridge To Nowhere RT (p. 92 in 100 Hikes)—leave at 8:30
TH: Take Highway 62 towards Crater Lake and make a left onto FS 68 about 7 miles beyond Prospect; continue 2 miles to the TH at Woodruff Bridge. EDT: 90 minutes. Description: Follow the river upstream from Woodruff Bridge; go one mile beyond Natural Bridge to the Bridge to Nowhere; cross the bridge and go right a short distance to our lunch spot at Viani Falls; then return on lunch side of river to Natural Bridge. Distance: 9 miles; elevation gain: 300 ft. Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 140 miles.
February 23: Crater Lake Snowshoe - Leaving Rite Aid at 8:00 AM
TH: Park Headquarters, Crater Lake NP; EDT: 2 hours. Description: Head up the Raven Trail from the park headquarters parking lot to the rim. The trail is "generally uphill" (700' in 1.5 miles). Return the same way. You will get a nice workout and a wow moment when you crest the rim and see the lake. Don't forget your sunglasses and sun block. Safety first: please stay behind the tree line to avoid dropping off a cornice into the caldera. Distance: 3 miles RT; elevation gain: 700'. Annie Springs SNOTEL. Weather forecast.
