Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sunscreen and rain gear as appropriate. June 5: Ladybug Gulch to Tallowbox Mountain
TH: Take I-5 North to exit 24 towards Phoenix 0.3 miles. Use the left lane to take the ramp onto North Phoenix Road 0.4 miles. Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto OR-99 N/Main Street 1.4 miles. Turn left onto South Stage Road 3.4 miles. Turn right onto Griffin Creek Road/South Stage Road 0.3 miles. Turn left onto South Stage Road 2.8 miles. Continue onto East California Street 1.6 miles. Continue onto OR-238 West 6.7 miles. Turn left onto Upper Applegate Road 6.4 miles. Turn right onto Star Gulch Road 5.7 miles to Ladybug Gulch Trailhead.
This is a new trail that has recently opened. We will start at the lower Ladybug Gulch trailhead and hike up 3.22 miles and turn left and go up to the Tallowbox Mountain where we will have lunch. Then return to the Tallowbox trail and go left another 0.9 of a mile to the Tallowbox trailhead. From there, we will return to the Ladybug trailhead. Distance: 8.9 miles Elevation gain: 3,271'. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 80 miles.

June 12: Kerby Peak Leave at 8:00 AM
TH: Up to Grants Pass and then west on Highway 199 to Selma. In Selma left at the blinker on Deer Creek Road for 9 miles, right on White Creek Road for 0.5 miles and then left at the Kerby Peak Trail sign on East White Creek Road for 3 miles to the TH. EDT: 90 minutes. Description: Beautiful but steep climb through an old growth forest up to the ridge and then a fairly gentle walk along the ridge up to Kerby Peak. Distance 6 miles; Elevation delta: 2,800 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 150 miles.

June 19: PCT - Castle Crags - North from Dog Creek to Sabin's Point  Leave at 8:00 AM Hike leader: Barry
TH: Head south on I-5 to the Castle Crags exit (724). Right on Castle Creek Road for 3.3 miles to the Dog Creek TH on the right at an old mine. EDT: 90 minutes. Description: Take the 4W18 spur trail 0.7 mile to its junction with the PCT. Left on the PCT and head north on the shoulder of Castle Crags above the North Fork of Castle Creek to Sabin's Point for lunch. Great views of the Crags and the canyon. Poles are useful on this hike. Distance: 10 miles. Elevation delta: 1,920'. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 180 miles.

June 26: Wagner Butte (p. 140 in 100 Hikes) Leave at 8:00 AM 
TH: From Talent make a left onto Rapp Road and continue on to Wagner Creek Road. From the start of gravel continue 2.3 miles to a left to stay on Wagner Creek Road. Continue another 3.6 miles, making a left after crossing the cattle grate, to the TH which is 1.9 miles past the cattle grate. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: uphill most of the way, but great flower displays and spectacular panoramic views from the top. Distance: 10.4 miles RT; elevation gain: 2,800 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 40 miles
