Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. March 4: Trans-Ashland (Oredson-Todd Woods to Lithia Park)
TH: Leave shuttle cars at Rite Aid. Carpool up Tollman Creek Road. Turn right on Green Meadows Way, turn left on Lupin to Oredson-Todd Woods TH parking. EDT: 10 minutes. A local hike across town that goes through three parks and ends at the Plaza for lunch. Then we take the #10 bus back to Rite Aid. 5+ miles, 800' gain. Hikers with cars at Rite Aid please assist drivers with cars at O-T Woods. Thanks.  Weather forecast.  RT mileage: 10 miles.

March 11: Lewis Loop - Ashland Watershed
TH: From Rite Aid head west on Ashland Street, and bear right on Siskiyou Boulevard. At the light just past Triangle Park turn left on Morton. Head up Morton to a jog right and jog left at Ashland Street to stay on Morton. Follow Morton on up to where it curves back around first to the right then to the left where the dirt Ashland Loop Road takes off to the left and continues on up the hill for about 1 mile to the White Rabbit TH on the left. EDT: 10 minutes. Description: Head up White Rabbit for a half mile then right onto Caterpillar Trail all the way up to right onto Lewis Loop. Some views of surrounding mountains. Distance: 6 miles. Elevation gain: 750'. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 10 miles.

March 18: Lower Rogue River Trail: Grave Creek to Whiskey Creek RT (100 Hikes, p. 199) Depart at 8:30 A. M.
TH: Take I-5 north to Exit 71 toward Sunny Valley.  Keep left at the fork to continue toward Sunny Valley Loop.  Continue on Sunny Valley Loop Drive to Leland Road. Turn left on Sunny Valley Loop. Turn right onto Leland Road. Head west on Leland Road toward Sunny Valley Loop 3.7 miles. Turn right onto Lower Grave Creek Road 2.6 miles. Turn left to stay on Lower Grave Creek Road 8.9 miles. Turn right to go down to the Graves Creek Boat Launch. EDT:90 minutes.
Description: Follow the north rim of Rogue River past Rainie Falls to Whiskey Creek; return the same way. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 1,270 ft. Weather forecast RT driving mileage: 140 miles.

March 25: Lower Layton Mine Trail
TH: North on I-5 to exit 55 for Grants Pass. Follow Highway 199 for 3 miles to a left on Highway 238 towards Williams. South on the Williams Highway to the town of Williams, then south on the East Fork Road to a left (east) turn on to Panther Gulch Road (Bureau of Land Management Road 39-5-2). Head east on Panther Gulch for 2.3 miles (paved, then good gravel) to a T-junction where we parked. Description: At right turn at the T-junction, quickly look for the lower trail on the right. EDT: 1:10. The Lower Layton Mine Trail is a ditch trail mostly level about 7 miles out and back. Can return to Ashland through the scenic Applegate valley on Highway 238. Weather forecast.  RT mileage: 100 miles.
