Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. December 2: Bolt Mountain (Grants Pass) Leave at 8:30 AM
TH: Take I-5 north to exit 55 for US-199/Redwood Highway towards Ocean Beaches/Crescent City. Continue on 199 for 2.5 miles. Use the left 2 lanes to turn eft onto OR-238 E and go 1.5 miles. Turn right onto New Hope Road. Go 3.2 miles. Turn right onto Fish Hatchery Road and go 1.8 Miles. Turn right onto Wetherbee Drive 0.7 of a mile until you reach Fish Hatchery County Park. Park at trail head. There is a pay station below and the cost is $5.00. There is also a port-a-potty. EDT:1 hour. Description: The trail has a good mix of smooth trail and rocky sections. The first 2 miles are the steepest part of the climb. After that it is smooth sailing to the top for the most part. About 1.5 miles up the trail you'll see a small spur trail leading off to the northeast (right). Make sure you stay left there and follow the main trail. There are great views of the valleys and mountains around the area from the top. Distance: 6.5-7 miles Elevation Gain: 1,300'. Weather forecast. RT Mileage: 110 miles.

December 9: Woodruff Bridge to Takelma Gorge  Leave Rite Aid at 8:30 AM
TH. North on I-5 to Exit 30 then 52 miles up Highway 62 to the Wooddruff Bridge turn off, parking on the left before the bridge.
Description: View the Fall color change on Dogwoods and Vine Maples to Reds and Yellows along the Rogue River Trail. 7 miles RT.

December 16: Lithia Park & Wonder Trail (part one) meet by the Band Shell, 9:00 AM
From parking near the Band Shell cross the road to view the fountain and the Japanese Garden. Then hike up the path from the Pickleball courts to the upper duck pond then continue up to view Ashland Creek from the auto bridge.Take the trail up to the swimming reservoir, then continue to the Wonder Trail and turn around at the 2.9 mile intersection. While completing the loop of the Park, you can stop for lunch on the Plaza. Merry Christmas to All. Weather forecast.

December 23:  Roxy Ann PeaK, from top Parking Lot  Leave Rite Aid at 9:00 AM
TH: North on I-5 to Exit 24. Right on North Phoenix Road, Right on Cherry Lane, Right on Hillcrest, Left on Roxy Ann Road to upper parking by Porta Potties. EDT: 30 minutes.
Description: Follow trail and roads up to the summit, for 360 degree views of valley and mountains. Enjoy Spring flowers (Blue Camus). 5 miles RT, 1,000' gain. Visit Roxy Ann Winery post-hike. Weather forecast. Mileage: 30 miles RT.

December 30: Pederson Nordic Trail Snowshoe  Leave at 9:00 AM
TH: Take DIM to the PCT crossing / Pederson Sno-Park just past milepost 27. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: Head north on the Pederson Nordic Trail for 2 miles to the Brown Mountain Shelter. Return the same way.  Distance 4 miles; elev. gain: 500 feet. Fish Lake SNOTEL Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 60 miles.
