September 4 (Labor Day): New Wonder Trail to Fell on Knee
Directions: Drive to Lithia Park, go up past the Swimming Reservoir to the top of the parking area across the road from the TH. EDT: 15 minutes. Description: Take the New Wonder trail up to where it meets the old Wonder Trail. Continue up the Wonder Trail to where it meets the Fell on Knee Trail for lunch. RT 8.6 miles, elevation gain 1,300'. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 10 miles.

September 11: PCT from Cook & Green Pass to Echo Lake and towards Lilly Pad Lake (p. 160 in 100 Hikes) Leave at 8:00 AM
TH: Past Applegate Lake to the T innersection. Left on Elliot Creek Road / NF-1050 for 2.1 miles. Right on NF-1055 for 9.8 miles to the TH at Cook & Green Pass. High clearance vehicles recommended. EDT: 1:45. Description: Hike on the PCT to the ridge above Echo Lake for a nice lunchtime view down to the Lake. Continue past Echo Lake towards Lily Pad Lake for huge additional views. Turn around before the Lake or continue down to the Lake. Elevation gain about 2,000 feet spread out gradually over the hike. 7.1 miles return to the turnaround or 8.1 miles to Lily Pad Lake and back. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 120 miles

September 18: East Boulder Lake via Middle Boulder Lake (CA)Leave at 8:00 AM
Directions: South on I-5 to Yreka Exit 773 and take Highway 3 for 39 miles through Fort Jones and Etna to Callahan. Right in Callahan (behind the Emporium Saloon) on South Fork Road for 0.7 miles then straight on McKeen Road (40N17) for 2.3 miles to the McKeen Divide. Left (SE) on 39N63 (Boulder) for 2.9 miles, left on 39N10 for 1.2 miles. EDT: 1:45. Leave a shuttle vehicle at the East Boulder TH 2.5 miles to the Middle Boulder Lake TH. Take road around to the right. Description: Ascend to Middle Boulder Lake then over the ridge to the PCT and on to switchbacks down to East Boulder Lake. Lunch at Middle Boulder Lake. Go for a dip at East Boulder Lake.  Great Views!  Distance: 7 miles. Elevation Gain: Minus 700 feet. Climbing: 1,400'. Max elevation: near 7,000 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 170 miles.

September 25: Layton Mine Ditch Trail, part 4 (Williams, OR)  Leave at 9:00 AM
The fourth section of the Layton Mine Ditch Trail above Williams, OR runs north below the ridge.
TH: From Jacksonville head up Highway 238 towards Williams. After about 20 miles turn left onto Williams Highway then in town turn left onto East Fork Road, continue just past the 4 mile post then left on BLM Road for 1+ miles to leave a shuttle vehicle near the yellow gate. The remaining cars will drive down East Fork Road to the TH near the end of the road. Description: Follow the trail up towards and across East Williams Creek, which is the water source for the Layton Ditch Mine.You'll see the path of the 600' siphon up to the ditch, then follow the ditch trail back to the shuttle vehicle. Weather forecast.  RT Mileage: 100 miles
