Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen, insect repellent and rain gear as appropriate. In winter, bring layers. TH = trailhead; EDT = estimated drive time; RT = round trip mileage; PCT = Pacific Crest Trail; DIM = Dead Indian Memorial Highway.  Vaccination against COVID19 is required. 10th Whale Beach to Indian Sands plus Lone Ranch Beach

11th Prairie Redwood State Park plus Lady Bird Johnson Grove

12th Crescent City Coastal hike - cliffs south of the bay

Lodging at Curley Redwood Lodge 707-464-2137- Crescent City (from $68 plus taxes). The Lodge is across the street form the fishing harbor, so a good place for strolling. You need to make your own reservations. We will do our usual dinner at the Good Harvest where the fish is fresh and cocktails well prepared. The restaurant is a short walk from the Lodge and there is a breakfast diner across the street from the Lodge. Weather forecast. RT Mileage: 260 miles.

May 19: Ostrich Peak  Start at 8:00 AM Hike leader: Steve
TH: Meet and Park at the end of Birdsong Lane, Off Strawberry Lane.
Description: Hike from Birdsong TH to Hitt Rd, up to Ostrich Peak;
return via 2060 and Hitt -- with exact connector and distance TBD.
Distance: 7.5 - 9.5 miles RT; total elevation gain: ~2,250 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 0 miles. Meet at the TH.
