Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sunscreen and rain gear as appropriate. July 6: Wagner Butte (p. 140 in 100 Hikes) Leave at 8:00 AM Hike leader: Francie
TH: From Talent make a left onto Rapp Road and continue on to Wagner Creek Road. From the start of gravel continue 2.3 miles to a left to stay on Wagner Creek Road. Continue another 3.6 miles, making a left after crossing the cattle grate, to the TH which is 1.9 miles past the cattle grate. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: uphill most of the way, but great flower displays and spectacular panoramic views from the top. Distance: 10.4 miles RT; elevation gain: 2,800 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 40 miles

July 13: Abbott Butte from the Yellow Jacket TH.(p. 89 in 100 Hikes) Leave at 8:00 AM TH: Take Highway 62 towards Crater Lake. Just past the Mile 51 marker make a left onto Abbott Creek Road (the sign on Highway 62 says Woodruff Campground). Cross the river and at mile 2.7 (from the Highway 62 turn) make a right onto Woodruff Creek Road. Continue following Woodruff Creek Road (NF-700) through several intersections to the Yellow Jacket TH on the right at mile 10.1. The last 5 miles or so are gravel with the occasional pothole. High clearance vehicles recommended. EDT: 2 hours. Description: Follow the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Trail (#1470) up and across the ridge to Elephant Head Lake and then on up over Cougar Butte to connect with the abandoned road to the top of Abbott Butte. Return the same way. RT distance is 8 miles with 2,500' of climbing. We saw lots of wildflowers when we last did this one in 2011. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 150 miles.

July 20: Southgate Meadow and Gray Butte (Mt Shasta) (p. 218 in 100 Hikes) - Leave at 8:00 AM.
TH: Take the first Mt. Shasta Exit (mile 740). East on Mt. Shasta Boulevard to the first left and then right on Ski Village Drive over to a left onto Everitt Memorial Highway and then up to the Southgate Meadow parking lot. EDT: 90 minutes. Description: Beat the heat on this high elevation hike. The loop starts at 7,800 feet and reaches a high point of 8,300 feet. Head over to Gray Butte and then Panther Meadow and back up the road to Southgte Meadows. Be open to possible Lemurian contacts. Distance: 7 miles; climbing: 1,800'. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 180 miles.

July 27: Union Peak - Crater Lake National Park (p. 77 in 100 Hikes) Leave at 7:30 AM
TH:  Take Highway 62 towards the south entrance to Crater Lake National Park. The trail begins approximately 1 mile west of the entrance on Highway 62 at the Pacific Crest Trail crossing.  Description: This is one of our favorite hikes; great views combined with just a bit of a challenging rock scramble near the summit. Follow the PCT for 3 miles to the Union Peak trail junction.  Follow the Union Peak trail to the summit.  Distance: 10 miles; elevation gain: 1,600 feet.  Weather forecast. RT mileage: 170 miles.
