February 1: East Applegate Ridge - Leave at 9:30 A.M.
TH: Head up I-5 to exit 24, Phoenix. Left into Phoenix and then right on OR-99. Turn left onto Stage Road then for left on Griffin Lane. In about a mile turn right onto West Griffin Creek Road for 2.9 miles which becomes Poormans Creek Road for another 1.1 miles to a T junction and left onto Sterling Creek Road. Go 4 miles to the 4 mile marker and the trail is well marked 100 feet past the sign. 5.5 miles up to top and back about 1,100'. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 70 miles
February 8: Lost Creek Lake - Stewart Park to Hole in Ground Falls - Leave at 9:00 A.M.
TH: Take Crater Lake Highway / SR62 past Lost Creek Lake and over Peyton Bridge to leave a shuttle car at the Lewis Road TH on the left. Return to Stewart Park and follow the signs to the boat launch area and park. EDT: 1 hour. Description: follow the trail along the lake to the bridge over the Rogue. Cross the river and then under the bridge and head NE to the Hole in the Ground Falls for lunch. Return to Stewart Park. Distance: 9 miles; elevation gain about 600 feet. Weather forecast.
