Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. December 6: Songer Butte from Songer Wayside
TH: 8 miles out Highway 66 to a left at the Songer Wayside parking area.
Description- Take the Wayside trail out from the left of the parking lot. Go about 2 miles to a left onto trail up Songer Butte (2,700') for lunch and views of the south Rogue Valley. 5-6 miles RT with about 600' gain. Weather forecast.  RT mileage: 30 miles.

December 13: Lithia Park Loop & New Wonder Trail
TH: Meet at the bandshell parking lot in Lithia Park.
Description: Start up the Lithia loop and then break off past the Swimming Reservoir to do the New Wonder Trail. Come back down to complete the park loop. 8 miles and 750' elevation gain. Weather forecast.

December 20: North Elk Creek Park 
Directions: North on I-5 to Exit 30 and then up Highway 62 for 25 miles to a left on Elk Road. Park on right at intersection about 5 miles from the Highway 62 turn.
Description: From the parking area walk down the gravel road to the main trail in the park. Go right out to explore dam then come back to tables for lunch. About 6 miles RT mostly level with about 300' gain. RT mileage 100 miles. Weather forecast.

December 27: Cathedral Hills Park, Grants Pass 
TH: North on I-5 to exit 55, US-199 South / Redwood Highway. Follow US-199 south for 2.5 miles to a left onto OR-238 for 2.8 miles to a left onto Espey Road for 0.3 miles to a left to stay on Espey Road for 0.3 miles to the TH.  EDT: 1 hour.
Description: Cathedral Hills is a large complex of intertwining trails with ups and downs. Hike 6 miles. Ascent 1,000+ feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 100 miles.
