June 1: Lost Creek Falls and Grizzly Peak Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
TH: Left on Highway 66 for 0.8 miles to a left onto Dead Indian Memorial Highway for 6.7 miles to a left onto Shale City Road and follow the Grizzly Peak Trail signs: 3 miles on pavement, 2 miles on dirt. After the Grizzly hike, return to paved road and turn left. In 0.6 miles turn right for 1.4 miles to White Cattle Rustling sign and stay right until a hard left in one mile. Turn left in 2 miles and TH is on left in another in 1 mile. Hint: All lefts after the Cattle Sign. EDT: 30 minutes. Description: spring flowers should be in full bloom; great views over the Rogue Valley. Distance: 5 miles; elevation gain: 1,200 ft. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 30 miles.
June 8: Soda Mountain and Hobart Bluff Leave at 9:30 AM
TH: From Highway 66 turn onto Soda Mountain Road just before reaching Greensprings Summit; Proceed about 5 miles to the PCT crossing right after passing under the power lines for the second time. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: We will head south on the PCT in the Soda Mountain direction for a few miles. We'll either take the trail to the Soda Mountain Lookout (depending on how much dead fall), or continue up to Little Pilot Peak for a view. Then we come down and cross Soda Mountain Road to pick up the PCT on the other side and the short hike up to Hobart Bluff where we'll have lunch. It should be about 6 to 7 miles total for the day's hike. Weather Forecast RT mileage: 40 miles.
June 15: PCT from Mt Ashland Ski Rd to Grouse Gap RT (100 Hikes, p. 140)
TH: Take Mt. Ashland exit 6 off I-5; turn right onto Mt. Ashland Highway; parking area for PCT is just around the bend after the 7 mile road marker; EDT: 30 min.
Description: Hike south on the PCT to Grouse Gap; turn left and walk about ¼ mile along the road to Grouse Gap shelter for lunch; we should see some early flowers in bloom, especially in the meadow areas. Return the same way.

June 22: Azalea Lake Hike. Leave at 8:30 AM.
TH: Take Highway 238 from Jacksonville to Thomson Creek Road (13 miles). Turn left and go 13 miles on pavement to where it becomes Carberry Creek Road. After 3 miles of dirt road turn right on Road 1030, then 5 miles later turn left on Road 400. There will be a sign pointing left for Fir Glade. In 4 1/2 miles Road 400 continues straight as 1040/700. In another 1/4 mile Road 850 (a bit rough) turns right up the hill (There is a blank sign the shape of a little house). Road 850 ends in 1/4 mile at a large trailhead parking area. The 955 trail goes straight past Fir Glade to an intersection with trail 906 about 2 miles out. 906 goes right to Sucker Gap. Continue straight on 955 2 1/2 miles to the Azalea Lake overlook. Distance 10 miles. Moderate elevation change. Weather forecast. RT mileage 120 miles.
