April 6: East Applegate Ridge:
TH: Head up I-5 to exit 24, Phoenix. Left into Phoenix and then right on OR-99. Turn left onto Stage Road then left on Griffin Lane. In about a mile turn right onto West Griffin Creek Road for 2.9 miles which becomes Poorman’s Creek Road for another 1.1 miles to a T junction and left onto Sterling Creek Road. Go 4 miles to the 4 mile marker and the trail is well marked 100 feet past the sign. We will do an out and back of about 7.5 miles with about 800 feet of climb. Exceptional views. Weather forecast. April 13: Upper Table Rock
TH: Follow Table Rock Road (off Biddle Rd in Central Point) for 5.2 miles; turn right on Modoc Road for 1.5 miles to trailhead parking area; EDT: 45 min. Description: Follow the trail to the top of the mesa, then walk along Meadowlark Lane past the FAA VHF-VOR airways beacon to the Sam’s Valley overlook; return to the frog pond for lunch. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 800 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles
April 20: Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff:
TH: Drive Highway 66 to the PCT crossing at Greensprings Summit EDT: 45 minutes. Description: Trail is mostly in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument; go south on the PCT to “Hobart Bluff Viewpoint” sign; turn right 0.3 mile to top of bluff; enjoy lunch and 360 degree views, then return the same way. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 1,500 feet; Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 40 miles.
April 27: Mill Creek Falls Scenic Area and Natural Bridge / Knob Falls Leave Rite Aid at 8:30 am
TH: Take Highway 62 north from Medford towards Union Creek. At Mile Post 42 turn off to visit the Mill Creek Falls Scenic Area near Prospect. After visiting the falls, return to the cars and head up to the Natural Bridge state park. EDT: 1:40.
Description: At the stop at the Mill Creek Falls Scenic Area we will do a hike to view Mill Creek Falls, Barr Creek Falls, and Pearsony Falls as well as the Avenue of Giant Boulders. From Natural Bridge we will hike down to Knob Falls and return. Distance: 5 miles; elevation gain: 500 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 140 miles
