Our Friday Hikes have 3 features (expectations): Moderate pace, Mutual support (by staying together), and Peaceful trail conversation focused on observations and information about our surroundings.

Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen, insect repellent and rain gear. In winter, bring layers. March 13: UPPER TABLE ROCK Hike Leader: Judy Holy
TH: Follow Table Rock Road (off Biddle Road in Central Point) for 5.2 miles; turn right on Modoc Road for 1.5 miles to the trailhead parking area and toilets; EDT: 30 min. Description: Follow the trail to the top of the mesa, then walk around and across the mesa as we desire. We’ll stop for lunch by the edge overlooking the river. Table Rocks show the Rogue River Valley remnants of volcanic activity that happened millions of years ago. Diverse and unique species abound there, including more than 200 wildflower species in springtime. Distance: 5-6 miles RT depending on how much we walk on the mesa; elevation gain 750 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles.

March 27: Lost Creek Lake—Stewart State Park Boat Launch to Hole in the Ground Falls. Hike Leader: Elisabeth Zinser
TH: Take Crater Lake Highway / SR62 past Lost Creek Lake and over Peyton Bridge to leave a shuttle car at the Lewis Road TH on the left. Return to Stewart Park and follow the signs to the boat launch area and park. EDT: 1 hour. Description: Follow the trail along the lake to the bridge over the Rogue. Cross the river and then under the bridge and head NE to the Hole in the Ground Falls for lunch. Proceed to the shuttle car. Distance: 6 miles; elevation gain about 600 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 100 miles.
