Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen, insect repellent and rain gear. In winter, bring layers. January 10: Hald-Strawberry Park: Hike Leader: Judy Holy
TH: Take East Main to a right on Lithia Way; go through downtown and at the Lithia/Main intersection, make a U-turn left on to Main, then an immediate right on to Granite Street. Park near Granite/Nutley on the street (not in Lithia Park parking). Description: Start hike in Lithia Park near swings, walk through park, take Granite Street Steps, TID trail to Hald Strawberry Park, return via Strawberry Lane. Distance: 6 miles. Elevation: 700 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 10 miles.
January 24: FELL ON KNEE TRAIL: Hike Leader: Judy Holy
TH: Take East Main to a right on to Lithia Way; at the Lithia/Main intersection, turn left on Church Street, then left on Scenic, then right on Nutley, left on Alnut, right on Strawberry Lane, left on Birdsong Lane and park. EDT: 15 minutes. DESCRIPTION: Birdsong Trail, to Hitt Road Trail (a decommissioned road), and Fell on Knee Trail. We’ll have lunch on the rocks and loop back. Distance: 6 miles. Elevation gain: approximately 1,000 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 10 miles.
