February 6: Summit Sno-Park Snowshoe
TH: Take Highway 62 to Highway 140; turn right & follow Highway 140 for 32.5 miles to the Summit Sno-Park. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 75 min. Description: Make a loop on the cross country ski trails; Up Lower Canal (J) for 1.3 miles, east on Big Mac (I) for 1.1 miles, right on Petunia for 2.1 miles back to the car. February 13: Buck Prairie I Snowshoe Leave at 9:30 AM
TH: Take DIM about 18 miles to Buck Prairie I Sno-Park. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 30 minutes.
Description: Do a loop via Buck Prairie Road, Bullwinkle's Run, Wayback, and Peabody's cross-country ski trails.

February 20: Deadwood Nordic Area Snowshoe
TH: follow DIM 22 miles to the Deadwood Sno-Park (junction with FS Road 37); Sno-Park permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 45 minutes.
Description: follow FS 37 about 2 miles north to the Congested Area at the Daley Creek campground and make a right to follow skid roads to make a loop returning to FS 37.
The infrastructure here is part of the Talent Irrigation District. You can read about the history of the TID here and see a map of the infrastructure here. We will be walking along the Daley Creek Canal which delivers water to Howard Prairie Lake from where it flows down towards Ashland in the Howard Prairie Canal. The water then bypasses Emigrant Lake (via a siphon) and ends up in the TID canal on the west side of Ashland. Distance: 5 miles; elevation gain: 425 feet. Howard Prairie SNOTEL. Weather Forecast.
