June 8: Little Pilot Peak Rescheduled from Friday, June 7
TH: Drive Highway 66 14 miles and turn right on Soda Mountain Road just before reaching Greensprings Summit; continue some 5 miles to the PCT crossing under the second set of power lines. EDT: 45 minutes. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles.
June 21: Hike on the PCT Towards Pilot Rock
TH: Head south on I-5 and take Exit 6 towards Mt. Ashland. Continue 0.4 miles past the I-5 overpass to the PCT crossing on the left. EDT: 15 minutes. Description: It's an enjoyable stretch of the PCT off Old Highway 99 going towards (but not including) Pilot Rock. The trail is often shaded with a gentle incline and is absolutely loaded with a wide variety of flowers. We go about 3.5 miles in to a lunch spot with a view and then walk back out. Callahan's is nearby for those who like after hike refreshments. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 20 miles
