Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen, insect repellent and rain gear. October 11: Union Creek to Natural Bridge and Loop Back (p.94 in 100 Hikes) — Leave at 8:30 AM Leaders: Elisabeth Zinser and Judy Holy.
TH: Take Highway 62 north from Medford towards Union Creek. Park in the lot just before Becky's on the left. Description: Follow Union Creek down to its junction with the Rogue River. Make a left and follow the Rogue down to the Bridge to Nowhere. Cross the river and follow the trail on the west side down to Natural Bridge. Cross back across the Rogue, lunch at the Natural Bridge TH and then head back to Union Creek on the trail on the east side of the river. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 500 feet. October 25: Roxy Ann Peak (Prescott Park, Medford) Leader: Judy Holy. TH: Take Phoenix exit off I-5, keep right at the folk. Continue toward North Phoenix Road. Right on Cherry Lane for 2.3 miles; turn right on Hillcrest Road. Turn left onto Roxy Ann Road. Sign: Prescott Park to the Left. Park before the second gate. Walk to TH a few hundred feet beyond. Description: Loop hike summiting Roxy Ann in Medford with very nice views in all directions. This is a relatively short hike so let's plan to have lunch in a restaurant of the group's choosing after an early hike finish. Distance: 5 miles; elevation gain: 1,000'. Weather Forecast.
