TH: Take I-5 north to exit 24,left Phoenix Road, right OR-99, left S. Stage Road, right Griffin Creek Road, left S. Stage Road, continue on Hwy 238 through Jacksonville, right Mary Ann Drive, immediate left Jacksonville Reservoir Road, about 1 mile to first parking lot. EDT:35 minutes.

May 24: Jacksonville--Jack-Ash Trail in Forest and on Ridge - Greenstone TH to Anderson Ridge TH. Leaders: Elisabeth Zinser & Judy Holy.
TH: I-5 to Phoenix Exit and left to Highway 99. Turn right and proceed to Stage Road and go left. Continue on Stage Road to the end and turn left at the T junction on Griffin Lane. Drive about 2 miles, traveling past the school and past both Pioneer Road and W. Griffin Creek Road; continue straight until you see a sign for Griffin Creek Road (confusing but correct) and turn left onto this paved Griffin Creek Road (upon turning left, you will see small sign for Jack-Ash Trail). It will soon turn into the paved Anderson Butte Road which continues about 5 miles up to 4,500 feet elevation. The pavement ends and there is a sign on the right marked Griffin TH. Continue straight on FS Rd 39-2-8. Do not go left on Anderson Butte Road. In one mile you will come to a big pile of dirt on the right and Greenstone TH markers across the road on the hill. EDT: 45 minutes.
Description:Beginning at Greenstone TH: Trail ascends through old growth forest to the ridge (a good place to pause on a hill to the right and take in the view). Continue along the ridge another 2 miles to Anderson Ridge TH (when intersecting another trail, stay straight ahead). Stunning views of Grayback, Dutchman’s Peak, Big Red, and Wagner Butte.
