Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. May 4 (Friday): New - Flower Walk - Little Pilot Peak Weather forecast.

May 7: Lower Rogue River Trail: Grave Creek to Whiskey Creek RT (p. 199 in 100 Hikes)
TH: Take I-5 north to Merlin (Exit 60); drive thru Merlin and follow Galice Road 19 miles to far side of the Grave Creek bridge; turn left downhill to boat ramp and TH; EDT: 90 minutes
Description: Follow the north rim of the Rogue River canyon past Rainie Falls to Whiskey Creek; return the same way; spectacular scenery, but trail is a little rough in placesIf weather is warm, you need a lot of water on this one; be forewarned.
Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 1,270 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 140 miles

May 14: Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff RT
TH: Drive Highway 66 to the PCT crossing at Greensprings Summit EDT: 45 minutes
Description: Trail is mostly in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument; go south on the PCT to “Hobart Bluff Viewpoint” sign; turn right 0.3 mile to top of bluff; enjoy lunch and 360 degree views, then return the same way. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: 1,500 feet; Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 40 miles.

May 21: Rainie Falls Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
TH: Take I-5 north to Merlin (Exit 60); drive thru Merlin and follow Galice Road 19 miles to the Grave Creek Bridge. Park on the near side of the bridge. EDT: 90 min Description: Follow the south rim of the Rogue River canyon to Rainie Falls. Spectacular scenery and the side streams / waterfalls should be in full flow. The Spring Chinook should be running. Distance: 4 miles; generally flat but with lots of small ups and downs. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 140 miles

May 25 Friday: Flower Hike on the PCT Towards Pilot Rock
TH: Head south on I-5 and take Exit 6 towards Mt. Ashland. Continue 0.4 miles past the I-5 overpass to the PCT crossing on the left. EDT: 15 minutes. Description: It's an enjoyable stretch of the PCT off Old Highway 99 going towards (but not including) Pilot Rock. The trail is often shaded with a gentle incline and is absolutely loaded with a wide variety of flowers. We go about 3.5 miles in to a lunch spot with a view and then walk back out. Callahan's is nearby for those who like after hike refreshments. Weather forecast.  RT mileage: 20 miles

May 28: Grizzly Peak Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
TH: Left on Highway 66 for 0.8 miles to a left onto Dead Indian Memorial Highway for 6.7 miles to a left onto Shale City Road and follow the Grizzly Peak Trail signs: 3 miles on pavement, 2 miles on dirt.  EDT: 30 minutes. Description: spring flowers should be in full bloom; great views over the Rogue Valley. Distance: 5 miles; elevation gain: 1,200 ft. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 30 miles.
