January 1: Walk the Bear Creek Greenway Leave Rite Aid at 9:30 AM
Rich will navigate for us on a leisurely stroll along the Greenway to Valley View, with a lunch venue near our destination, return by bus. Distance: 6 miles of relatively flat paved Greenway. Weather forecast.
January 8: Little Grayback Trail
TH: From Ruch travel south on Upper Applegate Road to Applegate Dam; follow the road across the dam for 1.5 miles; turn left and uphill for 2 miles to the French Gulch divide TH. EDT: 60 minutes.
Description: steady climb across the southern slopes of Little Grayback Mountain toward Squaw Peak; return the same way. Big views including Squaw lake. Distance: 8 miles; elev gain: 1,500 ft. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 85 miles

Meet at Rite Aid. Carpool to top of Park Street. Up White Rabbit, over Alice-in-Wonderland, down Bandersnatch to Lithia Park. Lunch on plaza either Brick Room or Louie's. Bus back to Tolman Creek/Ashland Street. Retrieve cars from Park Street. Distance: 6 miles; elevation gain: 1,200 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 5 miles
January 22: Viewpoint Mike (near Lost Creek Lake) (100 Hikes, p. 241)
TH: From Medford drive Highway 62 past the turn off for the Lost Creek Lake fish hatchery and take next right a few hundred yards later onto a paved road. The parking area is soon after on the right and for the trailhead, cross the road at the back left of the parking and you will find a sign marked Viewpoint Mike. EDT: 60 min. Description: very nicely laid out trail parallels Highway 62 as it climbs through varied terrain to a large rock outcrop with a stone wall looking down on Lost Creek Lake. January 29: Pederson Nordic Trail Snowshoe
TH: Take DIM to the PCT crossing and Pederson Sno-Park just past milepost 27. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: Head north on the Pederson Nordic Trail for 2 miles to the Brown Mountain Shelter. Distance 4.5 miles; elevation gain: 500 feet. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 60 miles.
