Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street in Ashland at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sunscreen and rain gear as appropriate. January 4: Summit Sno-Park Snowshoe **Canceled**

TH: Take Highway 62 to Highway 140; turn right & follow Highway 140 for 32.5 miles to the Summit Sno-Park. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 75 min. Description: Make a loop on the cross country ski trails; Up Lower Canal (J) for 1.3 miles, east on Big Mac (I) for 1.1 miles, right on Petunia for 2.1 miles back to the car. Distance: 4.5 miles; elevation gain: 500 feet. Billie Creek Divide SNOTEL. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 110 miles.

January 11: Summit Sno-Park Snowshoe Hike leader: John Kerr

Description: We tried to do this last week but were snowed out. So, we are going to give it another go. January 18: Pederson Nordic Trail Snowshoe
TH: Take DIM to the PCT crossing / Pederson Sno-Park just past milepost 27. Sno-Park Permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: Head north on the Pederson Nordic Trail for 2 miles to the Brown Mountain Shelter.  After lunch take the Hyatt / Lake of the Woods trail southwest about 1 mile to the Pederson snowmobile trail.  Follow the snowmobile trail back to DIM. Distance 4.5 miles; elev. gain: 500 feet. Fish Lake SNOTEL. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 60 miles.

January 25: Deadwood Nordic Area Snowshoe
TH: follow DIM 22 miles to Deadwood Sno-Park (junction with FS Rd 37); Sno-Park permit required; passengers should help pay for it. EDT: 45 min; Description: follow FS 37 about 2 miles to the Daley Creek campground; Follow skid roads to make a loop returning to FS 37. Distance: 6 miles; elevation gain: 425 feet. There is an option to make this a 5 mile snowshoe if conditions are challenging. Howard Prairie SNOTEL. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles
