Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. March 6: Hike the Greenway from Medford to Central Point Leave at 9:30 Hike leader: Rich Stickle
TH: Take I-5 north to Medford Exit 27. Turn right onto Highland Drive and at the traffic circle take the 3rd exit onto Siskiyou Blvd. Continue onto East 10th street and then left onto E. Main St to the park. The group will hike the last section of the Bearcreek Greenway from Hawthorne Park in Medford to Pine St in Central Point. After a visit to the Rogue Creamery we will bus back for lunch in Medford. Distance: 6 miles. Generally flat. Weather forecast RT mileage: 40 miles.

March 13: Payette Trail to Applegate Lake
TH: Take Highway 238 from Jacksonville to Ruch (8 miles). Left on Upper Applegate Road 15 miles to Applegate Dam; 1st group drives left across dam to first parking and hikes to Manzanita trailhead on Payette Trail. 2nd group drives to the end of Upper Applegate, left onto Elliot Creek Rd and then left onto Manzanita Creek Rd to the trail head at the end. Description: Groups go in opposite directions and exchange car keys, meeting back at the rest area near the dam on Upper Applegate. Enjoy lunch together on Hal's Point: 60 minutes. Distance: 8.9 miles; elevation gain: about 1,000 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 80 miles.

March 20: Lost Creek Lake - Stewart State Park Boat Launch to the Catfish Cove Picnic Area on the North Shore
TH: Take Crater Lake Highway / SR62 for 33 miles to Stewart State Park.  Follow signs to boat launch area and park. EDT: 1 hour. Description: follow the trail along the lake to the bridge over the Rogue.  Cross the river and then left for about one mile on Lewis Road to the Catfish Cove Picnic Area for lunch. Return the same way or back through the park.  Distance: 9 miles; elevation gain about 600 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 100 miles.

March 27: Hike at Elk Creek Park New hike Hike leader: Rich Stickle
TH: From Rite Aid head north on I-5 to North Medford Exit 30, Crater Lake Highway. From Exit 30 head up Highway 62 for 25 miles to a left onto Elk Creek Road. Follow the road for 4 miles up to the West Branch Access parking area, stoping on the way at the Dam Overlook viewpoint. Description: Take the trail down the West Branch of Elk Creek to the Yellow Rock TH. Go up the Yellow Rock trail to the Homesteaders TH. Stop there for Lunch. Return back from there. RT about 8 miles. Views of notched dam on ride up. Should be good for bird watching and wildflowers. Elevation gain: generally flat. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 90 miles.
