Leave from the Rite Aid parking lot on Ashland Street at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. June 5: Grizzly Peak Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
TH: Drive Dead Indian Memorial Highway 7 mi; turn left on Shale City Rd and follow Grizzly Peak Trail signs: 3 mi on pavement, 2 mi on dirt.  EDT: 30 min
Description: spring flowers should be in full bloom; great views over the Rogue Valley
Distance: 5 miles; elev. gain: 1200 ft. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 30 mi

June 12: Upper Rogue River Trail - Round trip from Woodruff Bridge to River Bridge (p.84 in 100 Hikes) - Meet at 8:30 am
TH: Take Highway 62 towards Crater Lake and make a left onto FS 68 about 7 miles beyond Prospect; continue 2 miles to the TH at Woodruff Bridge; EDT: 90 min. Description: Down and back on the Takelma Gorge section of the Rogue River between Woodruff Bridge and River Bridge.  The trail is relatively flat, but with ups and downs . Poles are helpful on the uneven rocky sections of the trail. Distance: 8 miles; elevation gain: about 500 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 140 miles.

June 19:  High Lakes Trail from Fish Lake Sno Park to Aspen Point
TH: Drive Dead Indian to Highway 140. Turn left and leave a shuttle car at Aspen Point car park. Continue  on 140 to Fish Lake on the left and park at the Sno-Park on the Lake. Take the High Lakes Trail (trail head on the Fish Lake access road, passed coming in). Hike through the woods and lava flows back to Aspen Point. Retrieve cars and take refreshments at Lake of the Woods Resort. Distance 8 miles. About 1,000' of up. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 90 miles

June 26: PCT from Mt Ashland Ski Rd to Grouse Gap RT (100 Hikes, p. 140)
TH: Take Mt. Ashland exit 6 off I-5; turn right onto Mt. Ashland Highway; parking area for PCT is just around the bend after the 7 mile road marker; EDT: 30 min.
Description: Hike south on the PCT to Grouse Gap; turn left and walk about ΒΌ mile along the road to Grouse Gap shelter for lunch; we should see some early flowers in bloom, especially in the meadow areas. Return the same way.
Distance: 7.6 miles; elevation gain: 870 ft. Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 40 miles
