December 4: Lithia Park Loop Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
Given December weather we are organizing a Monday hike that will be more like a long walk in the park. Lithia Park. Rich Stickle will lead us up the Park and beyond and we will end the circuit with a civilized lunch at Bricktown on the Plaza. You probably don't need a pack but may want flexibility in clothing. December 11: Crater Lake Snowshoe - Leaving Rite Aid at 8:00 AM
TH: Rim Village Cafe parking lot, Crater Lake NP; EDT: 2 hours. Description: Follow the rim of the lake in a clockwise direction for splendid views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Return the same way. Don't forget your sunglasses and sun block. Safety first: please stay behind the tree line to avoid dropping off a cornice into the caldera. Distance: 5 miles RT; elevation gain: 200-300 feet. Annie Springs SNOTEL. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 190 miles.
December 18: Ashland City Loop Hike Starts at 9:30 Hike leaders: Dan and Leslie Dawson
TH: We will be starting at the Dawson home. Drive up Liberty Street from Siskiyou Boulevard and park in the 600 block of Liberty. From there walk up to 818 Liberty for the start of the hike. Description: A new local hike from a couple of our newer members. Dan and Leslie Dawson live at the top of Liberty Street near Liberty Street Park. Dan will guide us through the park up Terrace Street to the water tank then up the new Red Queen trail to the Bandersnatch trail. We'll follow Bandersnatch down into Lithia Park and over to Louie's for lunch. Then take streets and trails back to the Dawson's abode. Six miles round trip with about 1,500 ft gain.
