December 5th: High Lakes Trail (p. 122 in Hiking Southern Oregon)
Snow Shoe Hike: TH: From Rite Aid take DIM to Highway 140. Left on 140 for 7 miles and left to to Fish Lake Resort. Park on the lake beyond the camp ground to the right. Gain the trail off the entrance road and do 4-5 miles return. If there is little or no snow we can leave a shuttle car at Lake of the Woods Resort and do the 8 miles from Fish Lake to Lake of the Woods. There should be enough snow by then for snowshoeing. EDT: 1 hour. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 100 miles.
December 12: Lithia Park Loop Hike Leader: Rich Stickle
Given the weather picture we are organizing a Monday hike that will be more like a long walk in the park. Lithia Park. Rich Stickle will lead us up the Park and beyond and we will end the circuit with a civilized lunch at Bricktown on the Plaza. You probably don't need a pack but may want flexibility in clothing. Description: Leave shuttle car in Safeway parking lot. Take White Rabbit trail from Park St to upper TH on Ashland Loop Rd, then Alice-in-Wonderland and BTI trails down to Glenview Drive and on to Lithia Plaza for lunch in downtown Ashland.
