Leave from the former Haggen’s parking lot in Ashland promptly at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sun-screen and rain gear. April 4: Sterling Mine Ditch Trail: south from Armstrong Gulch (100 Hikes, p. 152)
TH: Proceed west from Phoenix to Sterling Creek Rd; turn left (south) for 7.3 miles then turn left onto Deming Gulch Rd; at the first road junction turn right 1.2 miles to the Armstrong Gulch TH.  EDT: 60 min
Description: Follow the Sterling Mine Ditch trail 3.5-4 miles till lunch time, then retrace route; great views if the weather is clear. 
Distance: 7-8 miles; elevation gain: 200 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 65 miles

April 11: Upper Table Rock
TH: Follow Table Rock Road (off Biddle Rd in Central Point) for 5.2 mi; turn right on Modoc Road for 1.5 mi to trailhead parking area; EDT: 45 min.
Description: Follow the trail to the top of the mesa, then walk along Meadowlark Lane past the radar station to the Sam’s Valley overlook; return to the frog pond for lunch.
Distance: 7 mi; elevation gain: 800 ft. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles

April 18: Sterling Ditch Tr: Little Applegate TH to Tunnel Ridge TH (100 Hikes, p. 152)
TH: Take Hwy 238 from Jacksonville 8 miles to Ruch; turn left onto Upper Applegate Rd; after 7 miles turn left on Little Applegate Rd and continue 8.5 mi to Little Applegate TH; leave shuttle car at Tunnel Ridge TH on the way. EDT: 75 minutes
Description: Trail starts out uphill and finishes downhill, climbing above the Ditch Trail to go around a private inholding; some nice views over the Siskiyou Mountains.
Distance: 6 miles; elev. gain/loss: 950/1200 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 80 miles

April 25: Little Grayback Trail
TH: From Ruch travel south on Upper Applegate Rd to Applegate Dam; follow the road across the dam for 1.5 mi; turn left for 2 mi to French Gulch divide TH. EDT: 60 min.
Description: steady climb across the southern slopes of Little Grayback Mt toward Squaw Peak; return the same way. Watch out for graybacks (ticks).
Distance: 8 miles; elev gain: 1500 ft; Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 85 miles
