Leave from the Haggen's parking lot in Ashland at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated. Bring water, lunch, hat, sunscreen and rain gear as appropriate. May 6: Union Creek Trail (p.88 in 100 Hikes) Meet at 8:30 AM Hike Leader: Lynn Clegg
TH: Take Highway 62 north from Medford to Union Creek; EDT: 90 minutes. Description: This is a scenic, "generally level", 4-mile trail along a lovely brook. Distance: 8.2 miles; elevation gain: 600 feet. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 150 miles.

May 13: Summit and Campbell Lakes in the Marble Mountains (p. 83 in Best Hikes of the Marble Mountain and Russian Wilderness Areas) Leave at 8:00 AM from the dirt parking lot behind OILSTOP. Hike Leader: Richard Blazer
TH: Down I-5 to Exit 773, the South Yreka exit and take Highway 3 to Fort Jones. Right on the Scott River Road for 7.1 miles to a left on Quartz Valley Road for 4.0 miles. Right at the sign for Shackleford Trail on 43N21 for 7.3 miles to the TH (the final 1/2 mile is rough). EDT: 90 minutes. Description: Visit some of the Marble's largest and most scenic lakes. Follow Shackleford Creek for 5 miles to Summit Lake and then continue around on the loop trail visiting Summit Meadow Lake, Campbell Lake. Distance: 12 miles; Climbing: 2,600'. Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 150 miles.

May 20: PCT from Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff (p. 130 in 101 Hikes) Hike Leader: Margita LaGrotta
TH: Drive Highway 66 14.5 miles to PCT crossing at Greensprings Summit. EDT: 45 minutes. Description: Follow the PCT for 3.3 miles through the woods and along the crest to the "Hobart Bluff Viewpoint" sign; turn right 0.3 miles to top of bluff; enjoy 360 degree views and lunch before returning the same way. Distance: 7+ miles; elevation gain: 2,000 feet of climbing; Weather Forecast. RT mileage: 35 miles.

May 27: Rogue Gorge: Union Creek to Woodruff Bridge (p.86 in 100 Hikes) - Meet at 8:30 AM Hike Leader: Lynn Clegg
TH: Take Highway 62 east from Medford to Union Creek, parking in the lot just before Becky's; on the way, leave shuttle car at Woodruff Bridge; EDT: 90 min. Description: Follow Union Creek down to its junction with the Rogue River and from there follow the Rogue to Woodruff Bridge. It's springtime along the Rogue - dogwoods and other flowers should be in bloom. Distance: 7 miles; elevation gain: mostly downhill. Weather Report. RT mileage: 150 miles.
