December 7: Bear Creek Greenway from Ashland Dog Park to Talent
Description: Starting out at Haggen’s, take city streets to Ashland Dog Park, then follow Bear Creek Greenway to Talent (Valley View Rd.);  take the RVTD bus back to Ashland. (Buses leave Talent at 18 and 48 min. after the hour; cost for seniors: $1; more for regular folk.)  Lunch at a restaurant in Talent or in Ashland.
Distance: 7 miles; elev. gain: 200 ft.  Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 0 miles.

December 14: Buck Praire—Snowshoe Trip; Canceled due to low temperatures, fairly high winds, and continuing snow forecast

December 21: White Rabbit/Bandersnatch Trails Loop (100 Hikes, p. 144)
TH: Top of Park Street, Ashland; EDT: 10 min.
Description: Leave shuttle car in former Haggen’s parking lot. Take White Rabbit trail from Park St to upper TH on Ashland Loop Road, then Alice-in-Wonderland, and finally the Bandersnatch trail (the Bandersnatch is a new trail not in “100 Hikes” description) down to Glenview Drive and on down to Lithia Plaza.   Lunch in downtown Ashland is an option.
Distance: 6.5 miles; elev. gain: 1200 ft. Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 5 miles.

December 28: Ashland City Streets and Trails Ramble
TH: former Haggen’s parking lot; EDT: 0 min.
Description: take N. Fork Rd. to Glenview and continue on to Granite; walk up Heart Trail to the Ditch Trail;  go right on the Ditch Trail; cross Strawberry Lane and take first left to the top of Strawberry Hill; proceed to the Maksymowicz residence (310 Skycrest Drive) for hot beverage and cookies; return to TH on the route of your choice—including spousal pick-up.
