May 1: Sterling Ditch Tr: Little Applegate TH to Tunnel Ridge TH (100 Hikes, p. 152)
TH: Take Hwy 238 from Jacksonville 8 miles to Ruch; turn left onto Upper Applegate Rd; after 7 miles turn left on Little Applegate Rd and continue 8.5 mi to Little Applegate TH; leave shuttle car at Tunnel Ridge TH on the way. EDT: 75 minutes
Description: Trail starts out uphill and finishes downhill, climbing above the Ditch Trail to go around a private inholding; some nice views over the Siskiyou Mountains.
Distance: 6 miles; elev. gain/loss: 950/1200 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 80 miles

TH: Take Mt. Ashland exit 6 off I-5; turn right onto Mt. Ashland Highway; parking area for PCT is just around the bend after the 7 mile road marker; EDT: 30 min.
Description: Hike south on the PCT to Grouse Gap; turn left and walk about ¼ mile along the road to Grouse Gap shelter for lunch.Distance: 7.6 miles; elevation gain: 870 ft. Weather forecast. RT driving mileage: 30 miles.

May 22: Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff RT on PCT
TH: Drive Hwy. 66 to PCT crossing at Greensprings Summit; EDT: 45 min.
Description: Trail is mostly in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument; go north on PCT to “Hobart Bluff Viewpoint” sign; turn right 0.3 mile to top of bluff; enjoy lunch and 360 degree views, then return the same way
