June 2: Pilot Rock Road to Porcupine Mountain and back
TH: Take Mt Ashland exit 6 off I-5; follow old Hwy 99 under the freeway 2.3 miles; go left onto Pilot Rock Rd and drive one mile to first crossing of PCT; EDT: 30 min
Description: Hike north on PCT past Pilot Rock to top of Porcupine Mt; return (partly) the same way; ascent of Pilot Rock itself is not part of this hike.
Distance: about 7 miles; est. elev. gain: about 1000 ft. RT mileage: 30 mi

June 9: Grizzly Peak
TH: Drive Dead Indian Memorial Highway 7 mi; turn left on Shale City Rd (paved but potholed); follow Grizzly Peak Trail signs: 3 mi on pavement, 2 mi on dirt; EDT: 30 min
Description: spring flowers should be in bloom on this popular trail near Ashland.
Distance: 5 miles; elev. gain: 1200 ft. RT mileage: 45 mi

June 16: Upper Rogue: Hersberger Bridge to Natural Bridge - New Hike - meet at 8:30 am.
TH: Take Hwy 62 East from Medford towards Crater Lake; on the way, leave a shuttle car at the Natural Bridge picnic area.  At the Highway 62 / Highway 230 junction continue straight on Highway 230 for 0.9 miles to the first left on Hersberger Road, cross the Rogue River and park ; EDT: 90 min
Description: Take the Rogue River Trail (1034) down the North and West side of the Rogue River to the Natural Bridge campground.  It's springtime along the Rogue - dogwoods and other flowers should be in bloom.
Distance: 7 miles; elev gain: mostly downhill. RT mileage: 150 mi

June 23: PCT: Hyatt Lake to Greensprings Summit
TH: Hwy 66 17.5 miles to Greensprings Inn; left 3 mi to PCT; leave shuttle car at Greensprings Summit; EDT: 45 min
Description: Hiking Group's Tenth Anniversary Hike. Walk along PCT thru flower-filled woods and meadows. The Hiking Group started out with an abbreviated version of this hike on June 27, 2001. As of today, Dan Stubblefield is the leader of the Ashland Hiking Group.
Distance: about 6.5 miles; elev gain: 1100 ft. RT mileage: 45 mi

June 30: High Lakes Trail from Great Meadows to Summit Sno Park via Brown Mt
TH: Drive DIM Hwy 22 mi to FS 37; turn left 8 mi to Hwy 140; turn right 5 mi to Summit Sno-Park; leave shuttle and drive 2mi on Hwy140 to Aspen Point. EDT: 60 min
Description: take High Lakes trail to junction with PCT; turn left and follow PCT 2 miles to high point on flanks of Brown Mt; after lunch, return on PCT to Summit Sno Park.
Distance: 9.5 mi; elev gain: 1000 ft. RT mileage: 90 mi
