July 7: Taylor Lake (Russian Wilderness) (p. 204 in 100 Hikes) - Meet 8:00 AM TH: Take I-5 to Fort Jones exit (1 mi south of Yreka); follow Hwy 3 for 27 mi to Etna; make right on Collier Way and continue 10.4 mi to Etna Summit; EDT: 90 min Description: We are really going to go to Taylor Lake this year.  Follow the PCT along a view-packed ridge crest for the first 1.5 miles to the junction with the old jeep road.  Follow the jeep road down to the trail to Taylor Lake. Follow along the east shore of Taylor Lake to the trail up to the PCT and our usual lunch spot. Distance: 7 mi RT; elevation gain: 1500 ft. RT mileage: 160 mi

July 14: Upper Rogue Raft Trip: A 13 mile self guided float trip in Tahitis or rafts (your choice) on the Upper Rogue with some Class II rapids.  We put in below Lost Creek Lake and take out in Shady Cove.  Coolers and ice are available (free) from the rafting company for your lunch and drink.  We will stop at Rogue Elk County Park on the river to eat. Tahiti rental will be about $20 per person. You will get wet on this trip so plan on wearing a bathing suit, hat and a top on the river.  Bring dry clothes to change into after the water adventure. Don't forget the sunscreen.  RT mileage: 65 miles

July 21: Wagner Butte (p. 140 in 100 Hikes) Meet at 8:30 AM.  Hike Leader Hal Slack. TH: From Talent take Rapp Rd and Wagner Creek Rd 7.6 mi to junction with FS 22; go left 2mi on FS 22 to TH. EDT: 45 min
Description: uphill most of the way, but great flower displays and spectacular panoramic views from the top.
Distance: 10.4 miles RT; elev gain: 2200 ft. RT mileage: 36 mi

July 28: Mt Eddy (opposite Mt Shasta in California) (p. 210 in 100 Hikes) - meet 8:00 AM TH: Drive south on I-5 and take Stewart Springs Rd exit (about 1.5 mi after passing rest area next to Weed); turn right at both stop signs, then left onto Stewart Springs Rd; after 4 miles, turn right onto Road 17 for 9.3 miles past the"upper TH" at the PCT crossing; continue 1.3 miles to the hairpin curve; park on the right side and cross the road to the Deadfall Meadow sign and the TH. EDT: 105 min Description: This year we are going back to the "lower" TH.  This adds about 300' of additional up but shortens the hike by about 3 miles by eliminating the boring, flat, first 1.5 miles from the "upper TH".  Wildflower heaven, inviting lakes, spectacular views of Mt Shasta; alternate turn around point is the ridge top before the long, barren slog to the summit. Distance: 7+ mi; elev gain to summit 2,635 ft, to ridge 1,800 ft. RT mileage: 165 mi
