Wolf Gap to Armstrong Gulch 4-22-22

Photos by Carol and Mary

Most of our hike today was done in the sun. The trails were in great shape but the road up to Wolf Gap could use a grader. The recent rain did some damage, not enough to stop you from getting through but a high clearance vehicle might be needed if it gets worse.

Near the Wolf Gap TH we came across some scat but the bear had absconded.  Since reaching our favorite lunch spot takes 2 1/2 hours, we paused for a cookie break at 11:45. This was affected in avoiding the near rebellion last time as those who have light breakfasts were near collapsing. Fortunately, boot laces make for poor nooses.

The group set a good pace and Carol only stopped a couple times to take pictures of obscure flowers. Thus we had ample time to lounge in the garden at Stage Cellars.
