Sterling Mine Ditch - Wolf Gap to Deming Gulch 4-9-14

The drive to the TH was uneventful. We went out via Griffin Lane and came back via Sterling Creek which is paved but about 3.5 miles longer than the Griffin Lane route. Travel time was about the same either way. BLM 39-2-8 is in relatively good shape.

Beautiful day for a hike with temperatures in the 50s and 60s under full sun. The Wolf Gap trail is now in good shape from the ridge down to the ditch with evidence of recent chainsaw work to remove the deadfall.

The ditch is the ditch. Again it was obvious that there had been recent trail maintenance work with brush and poison oak cut back from the trail. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch in the sun caped off with chocolate bars from Lynn and Hal.

After the hike we stopped at the Caldera Tap House where we enjoyed our usual refreshments on the deck.
