Ashland Hiking Home

We expected a typhoon and had a half hour of rain followed eventually by sun. The map I had printed out on-line wasn't quite useless but almost. We found some interesting trails and a fair amount of ascent. On one trail there was a circa 1955 car that had seen better days. No one was able to identify the model. It could have been a Packard or an Oldsmobile. We also happened upon a woodpecker right next to a trail at eye height who was enjoying his meal so much he ignored us.

The hike turned out to be fun and afterwards we basked in the Jacksonville sun as we headed for Boomtown.
