The scouting team went out Thursday morning to explore the new one mile section of the Jack-Ash Trail from Wolf Gap to the Little Applegate Valley viewpoint. It was perfect day for a great view after we drove through morning fog to get to the TH from Jacksonville.

After that we went down the Wolf Gap Trail and out the 6.5 mile stretch of the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail to Randy’s truck. 10 miles total. Track included Wolf Gap to track 002 is the new trail section.

And to think that the new trail will be continued to hook up with the Anderson Ridge trail, maybe some time next year.

Note: Correction- Apparently the new J-A trail connecting with the Anderson Ridge trail was just wishful speculation on my part. Randy points out that the proposed J-A trail map shows that spur heading downhill to connect with the Sterling Mine Ditch trail.

Thanks to the SUTA for creating and building this new trail system for us to enjoy.
