Seven hikers braved the threat of snow to take on the challenge of the the Bear Creek Greenway from Phoenix to Medford. Most of us bundled up with layers of winter wear and rain gear. Temps ranged from 29oF to 39oF, but with only a few drops of corn snow along the way.
We visited the bird sanctuary as we entered Medford, and went past the U.S. Cellular softball fields and Bear Creek Park off Barnett Road.
We welcomed back Joe Senter from a month in the SW. And looked for Elizabeth who seemed to find her own way through the parks. As we veered from Hawthorne Park and approached Common Block Brewery for lunch our wayward hiker joined us from a different direction. We were soon seated and received excellent service from Brittney our server.
Our wayward hiker was introduced to the majority of brews on the menu by our congenial server. After lunch we walked through downtown Medford to the bus station and our ride back to Phoenix. Another great hike!
