Greenway - Ashland to Phoenix 2-5-18

Photos by Bob

Eight Monday hikers gathered at the Wrangler arena parking area in north Ashland to start the second part of the Bear Creek Greenway exploration. It was a gray morning with promises of sun later in the day. We checked the posted map and were off.

As we approached Lynn Newbury Park (Talent), we stopped to view and listen to the Canada Geese in the marshy pond to the right. We also saw evidence of the Beaver's handy work having felled a tree into the marsh.

We kept up a good pace and were soon at Blue Heron Park (Phoenix). Looking up Bob and I saw a Heron flying over head. After taking our group photo, we continued on to La Tapatia (Phoenix) for lunch which included their special one dollar tacos. We all saved a dollar for the bus that dropped us across Highway 99 from our starting point. It was a most enjoyable day.
