Enchanted Forest 2-28-22

Photos by Sunny

One again we defied the weather forecast and found ourselves hiking on a warm day in the sun. The forest was bare compared to the brilliant fall colors on our last hike there, but the sun shining through the tall trees almost made up for it. We found a suitable log for lunch and had a long one. The old truck on the trail continues to deteriorate, possibly due to all the bullet holes.

Some flowers had emerged, notably Indian Warriors. Sunny pointed out some hounds' tongues and I had to correct her. Hound's tongue is less colorful than hounds teeth, which term I use to drive Liz crazy.

After the hike we dropped by Wooldridge Winery for a bottle of wine and a snack. The winery cat kept us company although he insisted on having the best seat.
