Enchanted Forest 3-5-14

It was sprinkling when we arrived at the TH and everybody put on their rain gear. That lasted about 10 minutes until the rain stopped and bright sun came out for most of the rest of the day. Temperatures were in the 50s and 60s. However, the climb up through the Enchanted Forest was perspiration inspiring with very high humidity. At that point we were all down to our base layers.

After we made the turn into the drier area the climb became much more pleasant. We made it up to the new logging road but decided against scaling Sabin's Summit. We sent a search party west on the road for a bit to locate a nice lunch spot but they returned disappointed. So, we headed back down and took one of the old jeep roads up to a grassy knoll for lunch. We have now named that knoll Tick Knoll in honor of the local fauna.

We took refreshment at the Cafe Ruch where we were pleased to learn that the chicks are now in.
