Enchanted Forest 11-8-19

Photos by Daniel, John and Linda

Fourteen (14) Friday hikers enjoyed a warm, sunny fall day in the Enchanted Forest followed by socializing around charcuterie and wine at Wooldridge Creek Winery. We entered through the public trail head for a round trip on the Enchanted Forest Trail, approximately 5 miles.

From the saddle atop the Trail, most of us ascended further to the upper road to catch the views over the region. Everyone collected at the saddle for lunch and group photo before returning to enjoy our afternoon socializing amidst the vineyards.

The huge fallen maple leaves along the trail continue to amaze and beg to be chosen for our Thanksgiving décor. The Enchanted Forest remains a favorite, both in spring for wildflowers and fall for the large maple leaves. Wooldridge Winery continues to welcome us as veteran hikers visiting them for well over a decade now. And, of course, they're thankful some of us can't resist picking up some bottles of wine, sausage, and cheese to carry home.

Those of us experiencing it many times felt that a better bet on fall timing might be mid-to-late October in order to experience the maple leaves floating down from their branches. November finds them only on the ground, many still lovely.
