Another great day on the “Wonder Trail”.  Other than a little wind on top at the intersection of the “Fell on Knee” trail, the weather could not have been more perfect. It was cool and partially cloudy the entire day, making for a very comfortable hike requiring only one wardrobe adjustment.  With the exception of a few short sections of mud, the trail conditions were exceptional.

We hiked through beautiful forest with brief views of Grizzly Peak, the City of Ashland, and Mt. Ashland from the trail. You could also see the tip of Mount McLoughlin if you looked closely.  The calculated two way distance is 8.6 miles with a two way ascent of 2,378 feet. It is considered to be an intermediate hike, but I know I will sleep well tonight.

Lunch was a mixed affair with some bringing food to eat on the trail and others waiting to dine at the Plaza. Greenleaf was the chosen plaza lunch site, and as usual they did not disappoint.

Janet thoughtfully brought miniature Canadian flags and a picture was taken with all of us waving a Canadian flag honoring our fearless leader John Kerr. We are all wishing John a full recovery and return to the trail.

Make it a great life,
Joe
