White Rabbit TH to Coggins Saddle 3-6-19

Photos by Dan and Keeley

Seven of us headed up to the Ashland Watershed to get outside and explore the forest.  The weather was not looking good, but we all decided to go anyway.

There was a lot of construction equipment at the trailhead (no parking), so we decided to drive further up to the beginning of the White Rabbit trail and possibly hike to the Four Corners area for lunch, using various trails.

We did complete the Lewis Loop and headed up a biking trail (used only for downhill I am sure - very steep) and headed further up the watershed.  As we crossed the 4,000 feet elevation level, we encountered snow and finally stopped before getting to the Four Corners area to have lunch.

We abandoned the goal of reaching Four Corners due to the snow and decided to hike down the Ashland Loop Road to the Caterpillar Trail, and finally to the cars.

The good news was it did not rain on us until we made it to Louise’s for refreshments.  This was not the greatest hike of the year, but we did get out and had a good workout.
