Trans Ashland 3-12-18

Photos by Bob

A great turn out of 16 hikers greeted us at the windy Rite Aid parking lot at 9:30, eager to explore the Trans Ashland hike on a early Spring day. Four cars caravanned up to the Oredson Todd Woods trailhead.

We wound our way through the woods, past the White Rabbit TH, and onto the TID trail. Before reaching the gate of no dogs or noisy hikers allowed, I told the group to be very, very quiet (just like Elmer Fudd). They Ace'd the no noise zone so let it be known that the Monday AHG did not cause the gate to be chained shut.

After winding our way through many Ashland neighborhoods and the woods at Liberty Park we began our decent into Lithia Park. Along the way, we passed hikers, dog walkers, joggers and families in the park. We called ahead and were welcomed at Louie's for lunch. Several friendly faces joined us there. Some took the bus back, some walked home and some got rides. It was a great day.
