Lithia Park Loop 12-16-19

Photos by Linda and Randy

On a morning that featured freezing fog, 18 happy Monday hikes gathered by the band shell for our annual walk through Lithia Park. Though the sun poked through as we started the temperature was still a chilly 29 degrees with frost on the ground.

We first viewed the Perozzi fountain and then the Japanese Friendship garden with sunlight shining through the hanging branches. Then on our way to Duck Pond #2 we found the path cordoned off from a damaged Mulberry tree that was going to be cut down.

We followed the higher paths up through the park to catch more sunlight. Then stopped next to the swimming reservoir to take our group picture. From there we went through the gate and up to the wild section of the park for more photo ops. Along the way a hiker said he had never seen that part of the park before. And that's why we include this friendly hike on our schedule.

Half of us went to Louie's for lunch after the 4.4 mile hike.

Happy Holidays,
Rich
