Ashland Watershed - Lewis Loop 2-14-18

Photos by Dan and Keeley

Nine hikers determined not to let the elements stop their outdoor activity headed up into the Ashland Watershed today.  The weather was a bit cold (low 40’s), but no rain or snow – yet.

It seemed cold, but the 1,800 feet of vertical kept us all warm to the top.  It was great to have Margita back after being gone for 2 years.  We had some views of Mt. Ashland and Wagner Butte, along with a few views every now and then of the Rogue Valley.

Lunch was taken at our favorite table in the watershed.  However, it was clearly a “Hank” lunch, for it decided to snow just as we sat down.  Liz found the perfect soft chair to recline and enjoy her hot lunch.  As we headed back down to the cars, it continued to snow, and then changed to a light rain.  We did not get very wet, but all were glad to make it to shelter.

Refreshments were take at Caldera Brewery.
