The weather forecast was for a 100% chance of rain in Ashland. However, 11 intrepid Friday Mod hikers hiked up the steps from Logan Drive cul-de-sac to the trail across the Hald-Strawberry Park and then on the Ditch Trail as far as we could go. Four new hikers joined us. The red bark of the madrones, moss and lichen glistened in the rain. We returned along the Ditch Trail. It’s always good to be hiking with friends in the forest even though every day is not sunny. Total distance – 4 miles, elevation gain about 200’.
