Summit Sno-Park 2-21-18

Five of us headed up Highway 140 on our way to Summit Snowpark, hoping that there would be enough snow to use our snowshoes.  It turned out to be a great day to play in the snow, which was untracked and about 10 to 12 inches most of the time.

We traded off breaking trail and arrived to our normal lunch spot early.  So we continued on to an open meadow and tucked ourselves up against the trees on some (snow covered) rocks for lunch.  It seemed to be getting colder, so after a short lunch, it was off down the hill.  We ran into 3 cross country skiers, plus one very small dog, and learned that there is a shelter about 3/4 mile farther on the trail, which we will consider next time.

All had a great time and refreshments were taken at Four Daughters in Medford.
