Bull Gap Snowshoe 12-7-16

Photos by Dan, Katherine and Keeley

We started today’s snowshoe hike in 18 degree weather and it finally warmed up to a balmy 20 degrees.  The feared wind only made its presence known a few times, but because we were in the forest most of the time, it generally was great weather for our hike.

The path had between 6 to 12 inches of new, fluffy snow, which made for great snowshoeing conditions.  We traded off breaking the path, which was usually well marked, or at least we could find our way.  There were a few “accidents” along the way (somehow a few of us fell down in the snow), but overall, everyone seemed to have a good time.

Since this was a short hike (3.6 miles), lunch was taken at Callahan’s.
