Buck Prairie I Snowshoe 3-3-23

Six of us broke trail through the soft and deep snow at Buck Prairie I for a mile and a half to the first wide opening with the vast view east, mountains hidden by overcast clouds preparing for the next snowstorm expected.

Taking turns to break trail, we avoided exhaustion carving a 2-foot deep trench making the return ever so much easier. It was a spectacular 3½ mile hike through beautiful snow-laced evergreens, occasional sunny patches and rabbit tracks, and the peace and quiet of the natural world. As always, we also enjoyed our conversations amongst friends.
