Upper Rogue - Woodruff Bridge to the Bridge to Nowhere 10-4-21

Photos by Randy

Our car load of four met Randy at the Woodruff Bridge parking area on a cloudy morning with the temp at 53o. Ideal hiking weather and good lighting for his morning round of Fall color pictures along the Upper Rogue River.

The reliable Vine Maples were spectacular, showing their now red leaves. Yellow, gold and pink leaves are also displayed along the river and overhead in a canopy covering parts of the trail.

This hike up and back from Natural Bridge brings pure joy in getting out to see the bright array of colors and once again experience the wonder of the Rogue. The river put on a show for eyes and ears with the sound of rapids and sight of white water to the calm of near still waters with great reflections of red and gold.

At hike's end we had visited the power of the Rogue rushing through narrow channels at Knob Falls and Natural Bridge; and felt the sun breaking through the clouds, warming the air to 73o. We did 7.4 miles along the Rogue.

Do yourself a favor and get out and see the Scenic Rogue in October.
